Austrian Cultural Forum NY, University of Applied Arts Vienna, Museum of Arts and Design NY invite you to DESIGN FOR THE REAL WORLD – REDUX: An exhibition presenting the winners of Victor J. Papanek Social Design Award

The exhibition celebrates the outcome of the inaugural “Design for the RealWorld Reduxinternational social design competition taking place from March to June 2011, organized by the Victor J. Papanek Foundation at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City, in partnership with the Austrian Cultural Forum New York.  
The winning projects were: Terreform ONE “Urbaneering Brooklyn 2110: Ecological City of the Future,” a socio-ecological exploration of the future metropolis; Wendy Brawer “Open Green Map” website, which fosters sustainable community development through inclusive participation; Lauren Busto and Yves Béhar and Fuseproject “OLPC XO-3 Tablet,” a children’s educational tool for worldwide distribution; Lars Vedeler, Marc Hoogendijk, Sophie Thornander, Karin Lidman, and Kristin Tobiassen “Jani Sanitary Pad” made from biodegradable biopolymers and water hyacinth paper;

Speaker of the New York City Council Christine C. Quinn Heads the Jury of ONE Prize 2012

Terreform ONE is proud to announce that Speaker Quinn has agreed to chair a dynamic selection of jury members for the ONE PRIZE 2012: Blight to Might, an open international design competition for transforming cities through innovation.
Christine C. Quinn has spent her career in public service, fighting for policies and services that are critical to the lives of New Yorkers. As a Speaker of the City Council, she has helped New York City to develop an economy of innovation through tax credits and initiatives to support new ventures in the five boroughs.
